That is so cool..Now all I want to see is that a bed have wheels so it can move from one room to another! All with a wireless remote. And maybe one that lowers the arm rest bars to make access easy as possible.

Thanks. This one has wheels hidden inside its telescopic legs which are electronically lowered for movement. Controls also have a standards compliant interface allowing them to be used with automated room control systems. There is also a version with larger wheels for travelling further distance, eg outside on sunny days (not that often here in UK) - its called a Volker S380.

Hi,
These beds have 2 year parts warranty. Very high quality components with newer ones having motors developed by Porsche. In demanding care home / environments where they receive more use (and misuse/abuse from care home staff) their working life exceeds 10 years. When used in users homes for homecare they last longer. We recommend an annual service though to keep things moving. Service details and downloads from support section of bakare beds website.

Hi great video - great product. I have heard that Hampshire County Council bought 1,100 of these beds from you against several other suppliers - why was this? also I have heard these are very popular in independent living situations - could you tell me about your service - is it national?

This is an excellent example of an electric nursing bed the type that can be used on a Squirrel alternating air mattress. This has been added to the Squirrel you tube channel.

OK to start with this is not a "light weight chair".

Right out of the box it's ready to go, just add footrests. I've been in a wheelchair for near 20 years and about tried them all, from super lightweights to what I call dinosaurs, you know the ones you commonly see in most hospitals.
This chair is what you might call upgraded from that. It feels sturdy, good locking breaks, rolls with ease, the push, or rear tires have a rough type finish painted on, for grip that's good, but for fast rolls down ramps, or down hill, could leave a slight burn in your hand, so gloves recommended for that.
All in all, for the price, you can't go wrong. Recommended, if you need a chair and tight on money, hey it looks nice too.

Thanks Amazon, you pulled through yet again!

I agree with these reviews however one note that isn't advertised. The wheel spokes are also plastic. I purchased this for possible use in my old age so I may not need this for years from now. The plastic does seem sound and heavy duty but both footrests and the spokes being plastic do concern me for long term integrity. This ought to be known for others considering this. Other than this, it was a sound sturdy purchase for the small price. With care, prudence and no mistreatment I think I have done well. Possibility to replace plastic items if needed but thought to make this known for others. Otherwise for price this is a good start.

My father suffered from a stroke so we had to rent a chair similar to this for $90 a month ... imagine.
Bought this chair cause of the movable arm rests & price.
Its simply great , I dont think you can ask for anything more on a normal wheel chair, highly recommend it.

This wheelchair is wonderful. The quality was great, and we thought it would be much less 'heavy duty' because of the price. It rolls really easy. However, it weighs over 4o lbs. Check the Drive website and it will tell you the true weight of the wheelchair. If you are looking for a lightweight product, this is the same as other wheelchairs. It's still a very nice product though!

Drive Wheelchair

I purchased this wheelchair not knowing it would fold together, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did. You simply lift it up by the canvas seating pad and everything collapses. The leg rests also fold aside very easily and the armrests fold up and out of the way so you can slide onto your bed. I tested the maneuverability and it fits into narrow passages and doorways (even ones found in homes that were made in the 1950s). Turning, moving forward, and backwards takes some getting used to if you haven't used a wheelchair. The controls are similar to that of a tracked vehicle in that you control turning and movement via the individual wheels. Or you can have someone just push you around. The wheelchair wasn't very heavy for me, I could lift it around without any difficulty. The shipping was extremely fast and kudos to Amazon for the excellent service. I tried ordering a wheelchair via a medical supply store and they gave me the run around for well over a month. I ordered this chair from Amazon and it arrived within 2 days as guaranteed.

Unfortunately, the packaging wasn't very sufficient. There wasn't any packing material to protect the chair, and the box already fell apart by the time it arrived. The OEM should consider more robust protection.

Pros: Easy to use, lots of features, affordable

Cons: Packaging isn't that great, it could use more protection and better box securements.

Overall: 5/5
Unfortunately, the packaging wasn’t very sufficient. There wasn’t any packing material to protect the chair, and the box already fell apart by the time it arrived. The OEM should consider more robust protection.

Pros: Easy to use, lots of features, affordable

Cons: Packaging isn’t that great, it could use more protection and better box securements.

Overall: 5/5

Or is it cos folk go... "Am from t' noe' west. A can relate to thee" while putting on a faux lancastrian accent.

Now I am from the North West, and while I find them entertaining, and yes, even occasionally funny, I find Stephen Lynch funnier, since he actually sings about things that actually matter, like homosexuality, drugs, and the death of elderly relatives...

Now, how about a game of darts in t'local, cocka.

Lancashire FTW.

Awesome..

I love Bernard :D

I've seen them live. I was right at the front of the audience with my friends and they pointed at me in the 'He's turned emo' song.
IT WAS HILARIOUS.

Bernard is sooo awesome :DD

I bought this for my elderly father who broke his leg. He's been blessed to be healing nicely, and this gadget is perfect to help get him in and out of a car. It works as described and fits in exactly the right position to grab onto. Otherwise there is nowhere to hold to put weight on the arms to try to stand up.

My 82 year old mother has severe rheumatoid arthritis which has necessitated one total knee replacement. She is now needing the other one done. Because of this she has great difficulty getting in and out of any vehicle. I saw this product and the "Standers CarCaddie" and ordered both. She is now able to transfer in and out of the car much more easily. She says it is the easiest she's been able to do so in years. We liked both products so much that we ordered another of each so that we don't have to remember to move them between cars. Do remember to check to be sure your car has a "U" shaped striker plate on the door frame as that is where it fits. Luckily we haven't needed the emergency features (seatbelt cutter and window breaker), but it is nice to know they are there, too.

I bought this for my uncle and I had gotten another one for my father. It's great for those who need a little help getting out of any car. It doesn't matter what kind of car you have this will work. I would buy it again.

I needed something to assist my mother in getting out of the car. We tried a different type of bar which worked ok but occassionally slipped. I bought this one hoping that it wouldn't slip and it didn't on my Nissan Altima so it's much better than the competition for my car.

Since having back surgery exiting a vehicle has been a problem for me. I have tried several products to aid me in this task. The problem was so bad, that I had to trade vehicles to find one that is easier on me. I now have a full size Mercury Grand Marquis, they don't come any larger than that in my price range.

Even after all that, I was still having a problem. I will note that the typical assist handle in most vehicles provides no assistance at all in exiting the vehicle. This is because they are inside the vehicle and can not be used to help exiting unless you are double jointed.

I did a lot of research and it came down to the "Handybar" or an assist strap that temporarily install through an open window and wraps around the door frame. The problem with the latter is that you need assistance to safely use it. Someone must be there to prevent the door from closing when you put weight on the strap. This more of a problem if you are parked on an up hill slope. The "Handybar" requires no assistance to use; even when parking on a hill. As long as the door detents will hold the door open, it is a one person operation.

I have only one negative which I plan to write the company about. It is my opinion that the handle design should be modified to raise the height of the handle when it is installed in the door latch. I have found that this latch is not at a uniform height in all cars. In some of the smaller vehicles I have tried it in, the handle is low enought to affect its useability. This is because of the vehicle size, the design places the door latch at a much lower height. However in my retro full size American four door sedan the product works very well indeed.

Filing for Social Security Disability benefits is not easy. This guide explains EVERYTHING in easy to understand terms. I wish I had ordered it before the first denial. I am using this book while filing a reconsideration. The suggestions provided have really opened my eyes to the process. I highly recommend this book to people who want a little extra information on the SSA's thought process when going over your application.

This is an excellent book of the whole area of Social Security Disability benefits and how to fill the forms out completely, when to seek an attorney for appeals etc, and a rather extensive section on what the term disability means to Social Security and what diseases, conditions etc qualify and which do not. The only area lacking was disabled spousal Social Security Disability coverage, which a spouse under age 50 with no minor children must file for in the same way the working spouse who becomes disabled would have to do. I plan on donating my copy which I bought via Amazon.com to my local public library.

I would have given this book a five star rating, but it did not include two important SSA forms. The forms are sent to a claimant when his/her file is sent to the state office for development. These two forms are SSA-3373-BK (Function Report- Adult) and SSA-3380-BK (Function Report-Adult-Third Party). The two forms have to do with your Activities of Daily living, and when received have a 10 day return time. The forms can be found on the net, but you have to know they exist.

Bought this book as part of prep for application for ssdi. (also bought how to get ssi and ssdi by mike davis and dis workbook for ss applicants by doug. smith). Each book explained a diff part of the ssdi process. This book told what each med diagnosis needed to establish to qualify for perm. disability. And it goes on to explain how to keep your ssdi once you get your award. I did win my case the first try using the info in the 3 books. Having them made all the diff in the world in understanding the ssdi process. Best $[money]. (all 3 books) I ever spent...
