Right out of the box it’s ready to go, just add footrests. I’ve been in a wheelchair for near 20 years and about tried them all, from super lightweights to what I call dinosaurs, you know the ones you commonly see in most hospitals.

This chair is what you might call upgraded from that. It feels sturdy, good locking breaks, rolls with ease, the push, or rear tires have a rough type finish painted on, for grip that’s good, but for fast rolls down ramps, or down hill, could leave a slight burn in your hand, so gloves recommended for that.

All in all, for the price, you can’t go wrong. Recommended, if you need a chair and tight on money, hey it looks nice too.

I purchased this wheelchair not knowing it would fold together, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did. You simply lift it up by the canvas seating pad and everything collapses. The leg rests also fold aside very easily and the armrests fold up and out of the way so you can slide onto your bed. I tested the maneuverability and it fits into narrow passages and doorways (even ones found in homes that were made in the 1950s). Turning, moving forward, and backwards takes some getting used to if you haven’t used a wheelchair. The controls are similar to that of a tracked vehicle in that you control turning and movement via the individual wheels. Or you can have someone just push you around. The wheelchair wasn’t very heavy for me, I could lift it around without any difficulty. The shipping was extremely fast and kudos to Amazon for the excellent service. I tried ordering a wheelchair via a medical supply store and they gave me the run around for well over a month. I ordered this chair from Amazon and it arrived within 2 days as guaranteed.

Unfortunately, the packaging wasn’t very sufficient. There wasn’t any packing material to protect the chair, and the box already fell apart by the time it arrived. The OEM should consider more robust protection.

Pros: Easy to use, lots of features, affordable

Cons: Packaging isn’t that great, it could use more protection and better box securements.

Now I am from the North West, and while I find them entertaining, and yes, even occasionally funny, I find Stephen Lynch funnier, since he actually sings about things that actually matter, like homosexuality, drugs, and the death of elderly relatives…

Even after all that, I was still having a problem. I will note that the typical assist handle in most vehicles provides no assistance at all in exiting the vehicle. This is because they are inside the vehicle and can not be used to help exiting unless you are double jointed.

I did a lot of research and it came down to the “Handybar” or an assist strap that temporarily install through an open window and wraps around the door frame. The problem with the latter is that you need assistance to safely use it. Someone must be there to prevent the door from closing when you put weight on the strap. This more of a problem if you are parked on an up hill slope. The “Handybar” requires no assistance to use; even when parking on a hill. As long as the door detents will hold the door open, it is a one person operation.

I have only one negative which I plan to write the company about. It is my opinion that the handle design should be modified to raise the height of the handle when it is installed in the door latch. I have found that this latch is not at a uniform height in all cars. In some of the smaller vehicles I have tried it in, the handle is low enought to affect its useability. This is because of the vehicle size, the design places the door latch at a much lower height. However in my retro full size American four door sedan the product works very well indeed.
